Global solar pv installed capacity to more than treble by 2020

The global cumulative installed capacity of solar PV modules will more than treble from 135.66GW in 2013 to 413.98GW by 2020, according to research and consulting firm GlobalData.

The company’s latest report states that emerging economies in Asia-Pacific, South and Central America and the Middle East and Africa are expected to be the major markets in the future, due to an increasing focus on renewable energy proliferation to fuel economic growth.

Pinewood Village consists of almost 200 1, 2 and 3 bedroom cottages situated in the heart of the “Garden City” of Pinelands Cape Town.

Solar water heating for guesthouses

Condor Solar in conjunction with Future Comfort have installed 5 x 150 litre SolarMAX retrofit solar water heating systems at a guesthouse in Tamboerskloof Cape Town.

This features a pumped, flat plate, retrofit solution where the solar collectors sit unobtrusively on the roof, while the kwikot solar geysers are hidden inside the roof.

Reducing the high cost of living with solar water heating

Westridge Estate in Mitchells Plain is the site of the latest collaboration between Future Comfort and Condor Solar.

The first 3 of potentially 145 new houses were fitted with 150 litre high pressure thermo syphon flat plate hot water heating systems in November 2014.
