Westridge Estate in Mitchells Plain is the site of the latest collaboration between Future Comfort and Condor Solar.
The first 3 of potentially 145 new houses were fitted with 150 litre high pressure thermo syphon flat plate hot water heating systems in November 2014.
The estate is situated just off Vanguard Drive in Mitchells Plain and offers affordable housing; and the new solar water heating systems in Cape Town form part of that.
This project demonstrates that solar water heating is critical for future affordable housing developments for the long term sustainability of young communities.
