Eskom has given notice to consumers that it will no longer be responsible for the future implementation, funding and management of the solar geyser and water heating rebate programme (both high and low pressure).
Eskom is in the process of handing over the responsibility for the solar rebate programme to the Department of Energy (DoE).
Eskom will therefore, through Deloitte, only process Solar rebate claims for High Pressure Solar Water heating Systems up to and including 31 January 2015.
The Department of Energy (DoE) will only be able to implement a revised high pressure solar geyser rebate model when approval has been granted.
It is therefore critical that consumers, wishing to take advantage of the existing Eskom Solar Rebate Programme for Solar High Pressure Systems, do so before the end of January 2015 or risk possibly having to wait for the new revised system to come into efffect.
